Wimborne Minster – The Minster has been a living centre for pilgrimage, prayer, mission and worship for over 1,300 years. A Benedictine nunnery was founded there in 705 AD and it is believed there may also have been a monastery. Alfred the Great buried his brother Ethelred there. Only a handful of chain libraries survive in the UK and the one at the Minster holds 1,504 books
Kingston Lacy was built to resemble a Venetian palace. Many treasures are on display as well as an extensive range of paintings all worthy of viewing. The garden is a classic English one with a Fernery herbaceous borders, formal Parterre and Kitchen Garden, surrounded by Japanese-inspired planting and colourful woodland.
